Cartier
The fashion house Cartier, known for its fragrances and colognes, was founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. Already renowned for its exquisite jewelry, the company's reputation grew in the late 1800s, aided by his son Alfred Cartier and grandsons Pierre and Jacques. The company gained notoriety in 1904 when Louis Cartier released the first wristwatch for aviator Alberto Santos Dumont. This iconic timepiece became known as the "Santos." Throughout the 20th century, Cartier attracted presidents and aristocrats from around the world to its prestigious jewelry and watchmaking offerings.
