Ralph Lauren is a renowned American fashion designer, best known for his Polo line and other collections of clothing, accessories, and home décor. Founded in 1967, Ralph Lauren began with a men's tie collection. The company grew rapidly, securing its own showroom within the Bloomingdale's department store in 1969. By 1971, it had its own independent showroom in Beverly Hills, and the first women's Polo collection was released that same year. The company has continued to release fragrances for both men and women, beginning with the iconic Safari fragrances in the 1890s and continuing with new releases under other brand names in the early 2000s. The brand's first release was in 1978 and the most recent in 2015. The perfumes are released in collaboration with designers: Yves Casar, Harry Fremont, Richard Herbin, Honorine Blanc, Alberto Morillas, Olivier Guillotin, Carlos Benaim, Pierre Negrin, Christophe Ludamel, Elaine Molner, James Crivida, Annie Pozentin, Fremensch, Alain Altsenberger, David Abel, Jim Crivida, Linda Kramer, Anton Lee and Dominique Ropion.
